DJ VIK TOREUS - PYAMOR OUT NOW

Pyamor” is the latest Afro-Latin House record from International DJ and Music Producer, Vik Toreus – best known for fusing together world music and ethnic flavours with electronic dance. The record captivates the listener with a familiar sexy afro-house groove, incorporating Latin instruments, horns and tribalistic percussion. The added uniqueness comes from an Indian vocal, which brings a sprinkle of Eastern flavour to this dancefloor hungry banger. Out on Native Music Recordings on April the 21st, don’t miss it!

What the artist says

The song is a club record of the Afro House and Afro/Latin style. It's heavy on percussion and horns. Many records in this genre draw influences from African and Latin American music including vocals.

However, not too many of these records incorporate South Asian vocals unless you're listening to more deeper ethnic or afro-tech.

I wanted to include some influence of South Asian, so I sampled a vocal from a song called "Pyar Hogiya" released in the mid 2000s by Panjabi Hit Squad.

We cleared the sample and were able to release this as a Vik Toreus record, fusing together Afro House, Afro Latin, Tribal and South Asian all in one.
