Following the ongoing success of his album ‘Love Affair’, Ahmed Khan releases his brand new track, a heartfelt dedication titled ‘Letters’.
Ahmed Khan is a 29 year old independent Punjabi singer and songwriter hailing from Belgium.
A bilingual artist who has come to refresh the music scene, having initially started as a songwriter and producer, often ghost writing for well-known Punjabi artists, Ahmed’s own music career is now on the rise, with a distinctive Western and Punjabi fusion sound.
‘Letters’ is the first track to follow after the release of Ahmed’s successful big debut album, ‘Love Affair’ which released late last year and featured his hit single ‘White Night/Nuit Blanche’.
‘Letters’ is an honest, relatable and soulful Punjabi ballad. A self-reflective track dedicated to his son, mother and ex-partner; Ahmed wears his heart on his sleeve and lets his powerful lyrics do the talking. Written during the lockdown, the track’s timely release brings to light the emotions we all release during a time of reflection and closure at the end of what was a difficult year for many.
Accompanied by equally striking warm visuals that embody the emotion behind the track, the music video for ‘Letters’ captures Ahmed’s vulnerability as he burns the letters he is too afraid to give to his loved ones, symbolic of all the words he regretfully was too afraid to say to them.
Speaking about the track Ahmed states, “Letters is the deepest song I’ve ever written. I’ve never done a song like this. Finding inspiration during lockdown was hard, however it allowed me to connect to a deeper side of me and think about things that matter to me the most. I decided to write a song about my son, mum and a past love that didn’t work due to life problems at such a young age and things I wish I could have said to them but never had a chance.”
Ahmed’s music has been playlisted on BBC Asian Network, and on renowned global Bollywood TV channel B4U Music, as well as extensive coverage on leading media websites.
